  1. Not in the Marine Corps. I asked my husband.. he's a Gunnery Sergeant and a USMC Recruiter.

  2. No way, no how in the USMC...combat MOS's are prohibited for females.  I'm sure it's the same in the army.

  3. All military units are classified as one of the following:

    Combat

    Combat Support

    Combat Service Support

Currently, women cannot be assigned to combat units (i.e., field artillery, infantry, etc.) so a woman will not be given a commission in a combat corps.

That's not to say that women can't and don't end up in combat situations.

  4. In the Army the FA branch and the ADA branch are open to women.

I worked at FT. Sill and know several female FA officers. And I have meet many ADA officers.

Your assignments are what may be different. You won't a FA gun crew on a 155mm perhaps, but FA is more that just cannons (topo, FDC, meteorology, MLRS, etc). People need to realize that. ADA is well, there lucky to still have job if we keep fighting countries or insurgents without major air threats.

If you read through the link and see the Officer Career Branches, when you click on one, it will say "closed to women" at the top near the MOS.

And if you were in Canada, h**l you could be infantry or on submarines lol!

  5. Yes

  6. Since that most likely falls under "field artillery" which is a combat position - no a woman could not hold that MOS in either the Army or Marine Corps.
