  1. If you have moved into a rental address and the previous tenants did not cut off the gas then it appears that AGL have just transferred the gas to you as the new tenant. If they are billing you then it also appears that you have used some gas.

If you haven't asked to have the gas put on in your name and you haven't used any gas then you don't have anything to pay for. On the other hand if you haven't asked to have the gas put on in your name but you have used gas then you are being billed for what you have used. AGL is assuming that you want to be a client - not because you have asked - you haven't - but because you have used gas.

You will have to pay for what you have used - if anything. If you haven't used anything you don't have anything to pay for. Once you have resolved the matter of paying for what you have used - if anything -then you can decide if you want to be a client of AGL.

One word of advice. The land lord does not pay for your gas. You do.

I hope that this round about explaination clears up the problem.

    Cheers!!!
