Question

What is a firewire cord and how do you use it to upload videos.?

i have a sony handycam video camera and i want to upload videos but everytime i try with a usb i LINK it wont work. i have a firewire-i lINK cord, but how do you use it bc the end to it wont fit in a computer. and i might need the cost or where i can buy whatever is needed besides the firewire-i LINK cord (bc i already have that)

A firewire cable is just a cable for connecting two firewire devices.  Your camcorder is one and your PC should be the other.  It seems your PC hasn't already got a firewire card, so you'll need to install one. They're cheap, easy to install and readily available.

Once everything's connected you can capture and edit the video with Windows Movie Maker (it should already be on your PC).

Did your handycam package only came with the firewire cord?

did it has a USB cord? Did it came with a handycame dock?

I think It should came with a handycam dock. if yes. then the cord it came with must be connected to the dock and the computer. got it?

Then dock the handycam in the dock.

Next step should be installing the handycam driver to computer. it should came with a CD in the package.

You have 2 answers for your last question.

Sometimes you have to wait more than 10 minutes to get an answer!

Buy an IEEE 1394 (Firewire) card and install it in your computer.  Shouldn't cost more than $15.

(I don't see an USB option on your camera specs)
