Does anyone know what the little reddish-orange bugs are that are mainly found on or near concrete?? On the back of some bottles of bug spray (skin protectants) they are referred to as.........."no see-ums"!!!

They are VERY little and VERY hard to see. They are shaped like sand fleas and jump and bite like fleas too. Can anyone tell me what the technical term is for them. What is their real name and where did they came from???

Thanks for answers.....hopefully someone has the real answer to my question.

P.S. I live in Jersey, don't know what other states they may be in.
