Can Air Guitar make you a better REAL Guitar player?

Question

Just wondering cause I play real guitar ands sometimes Í'll sit and play "Bang Your Head" or things like "Heavy Metal" by Sammy Hagar, on air guitar.

Really dumb question, but can it? Does it exercise your fingers and make them faster?

no, it probably does about as much for a real guitarist as Guitar  Hero does.

only if you really feel it.  are you feeling it?  

actually, visualizing success never hurt anybody.  but hagar.  you don't need to practice that $hit.  just plug in your guitar and kick the strings and walk off.  air guitar - don't think it's improving the muscle memory that is so integral to playing guitar.
