  1. no........probably not.She then beat Jelena Dokic in three sets in the quarter-finals, before finally being knocked out in straight sets by the eventual champion, Lindsay Davenport. Stevenson joined Chris Evert and Anna Kournikova as the only women in recent times to reach the semi-finals on their Wimbledon debut.

  2. firstly,i don't think getting to one semifinal automatically makes one a top player. i think the tennis media just always dubbed her the future but stevenson never improved after that semi. she had a major let down and she became injury prone. plus,i think a big part of the reason why she never got better is her lack of determination. she had such great potential to become a top player...a huge serve which i still believe is one of the most powerful and a strong one-handed backhand and decent volleying skills. i just think her lack of mental fortitude became a liability for her. and because of that,i think we'll only see her on the ITF or qualifications.

  3. It is pretty doubtful.   What has she done lately?   She never was at the top, anyway.

  4. The top?  She was never at the top, but I guess you mean the top of her game.  It seems more unlikely that she can do so.  She burst onto the scene too much too soon with her Wimbledon semifinal achievement in '99, and even from that time, it seemed her problem was consistency.  Stevenson is talented athletically as in the ability to stay out there, but her game is too messy.  She was just able to have a good Wimbledon in '99.  But she is still in her mid-20s and anything is possible.  Notice how her fellow Wimbledon '99 semifinalist and former teen prodigy, Mirjana Lucic, has been in the same situation for some time as well.

  5. I dont think so

  6. Since she was never really at the top it would be a tall order at this point in her career to get there. I saw her play a qualifying match in one of her earlier comeback attempts and she looked lost on court. She had this deer in headlights look on her face and was just oozing nervous energy.

She has a good serve and a big game but her movement and her inability to construct points under pressure has always been a problem for her. If she is to make any kind of run to get near the top, Wimbledon (where she made the semis in 1999) is the best place to do it. She lost in the second round of qualifying so she won't get that chance this year.
