  1. yes all food is a kinda food, if its not a kind of food then its not food....................................... duh

  2. There is NO such thing..

a carrot is just that lettuce is just that tomato lots of them just tomatoes It is all the same around the world..

YOU define Americanized we will show you IT came from some other place

there may be a few corn  potatoes citrus Tequila etc..☺

  3. Yes, America is a melting pot of different cultures and as a result, our food is too.

    American foods...

Hot dogs - the sausage was originally German, but adapted to American tastes

Pizza - Italian pasta sauce on bread

    Apple Pie - Typically American

Chili - Mexican spices in an American stew

    Nachos - Invented in Texas

Corned Beef - Actually invented by Jewish immigrants in new York City, the Irish never knew Corned Beef

Potato Chips - A modification of the Pomme Frites (French Fries) which originated in Belgium, not France.

  4. there are "american cafes".  usually you find things like burgers fried chicken ribs

  5. if you go to other countries, you wont see these kinds of food.

for example: if you go to an asian country, you wont see heavily fried chicken served with bright pink sauce for their sweet and sour chicken.

though if you go to american chain stores in other countries, they offer things that arent offered here, but arent considered part of their culture.

But just look at americas culture. All it is is a mix of many different kinds of people who brought their culture here. The countries not even 300 years old, so compared to many other countries, we havent even had time to establish a real american food culture. the italians have been around for ages so they have had time to develop and perfect their food.

but obesity is somewhat becoming an american culture due to the fact that 31% of people in america are considered obese. maybe our cultures food is just deep fried and highly caloric.

sorry, kinda went off on a tangent

  6. like art, food has a tradition of taking what is created and modifying it to fit different places and times. Food and the creation do not belong to any one culture (ie french German etc), A good example is the meat or veggies in bread referred to as an empanada, dumpling, hot pocket, shaorwma, burrito, etc. bottom line America is continuing a tradition of food culture in the same way that most European and Asian countries take ideas from each other to create new....As for Quality Yes we have some of the finest/best resturants in the world, and some of the best food but, that said we have alot of everything in the US, so the ratio of quality to quantity is low.

  7. Not really. It's just the norm, considering that all of these other cultures (italian, spanish etc) migrate to the US or Canada, we adapt to their culture by introducing their food into our society.

When i think, "American" or "Canadian" food, i picture Burgers and fries, or a club sandwich... Thats just me though

  8. The simple answer is yes.

If you really dig into most of what we call Italian or Mexican or French food here in the US you will find that what we consume is very different than what exists in the supposed country of origin.

When we label food Italian or Mexican we are not actually doing it any justice. Travel through either of those countries and you will find variances as great as if you traveled in the USA from the Midwest to the south to Texas or to California.

If you take a food influence and change it enough it becomes something totally different and unique. So yes, I would say that aside from the c**p served in fast food restaurants that there is a unique food that can be considered American. After all, the old fashioned Drive-In is a uniquely american experience.
