  1. You can stay anywhere in Cuba. It doesn't matter if you're travelling from the States. Cuba will welcome you and don't have any problems with you entering the country.

It is only the US that has an issue with their residents travelling to Cuba...and actually it isn't the travel that is 'illegal'...it is spending money (basically doing business) in Cuba.

This is why the US requires you to obtain a travel licence from the OFAC. And not everyone qualifies either.

That said, this is why many Americans will travel to Cuba via a 3rd country such as Mexico or Canada. But keep in mind that is considered 'illegal' travel in the eyes of the States. Many get concerned about fines but in most cases that doesn't happen.

Cuba does not stamp passports. So when you re-enter the States, there will be no indication of that on your passport. You need to make sure that you avoid all paper trails and be careful about bringing back souvenirs (unless you travel through Mexico, which then in that case the souvenirs are pretty much the same if you don't have anything saying 'Cuba' on it).

There are many airlines that fly into Cuba. If you come through Canada, then you would fly into Cuba with Air Canada, Air Transat, Skyservice, Sunwing most likely.

Mexicana, Aerocaribbean, Cubana, AeroMexico, AeroCaribe, Air Jamaica and so many more also fly into Cuba.

If you choose to go through Canada, you can try www.tripcentral.ca or www.belairtravel.com

These are great travel agencies to book with. Check the prices online but then call in person so that you can adjust details of your reservations, hotel info/room requests, etc.

Here is some information for you to look at as a US traveller to Cuba.

If you go, you will have a great time!

    Have a great trip.
