Can Anders Hansen reach the top of the leaderboard?
One of the most prestigious events on the European Tour, the French Open, is in full swing. The best in the game are going head to head to win the trophy. The venue for the event is Le Golf National.
The course is situated near Paris. This course is considered to be one of the toughest courses on the European Tour.
Two days have passed and the spectators are getting their money’s worth. All the players are giving it their best to win the ultimate prize. Thus far, the weather conditions have remained favourable for the players.
One of the players who have remained in the spot light is Denmark’s Anders Hansen. Hansen has played quite well till now. Two days in the tournament and he is going quiet steady.
Hansen scored one-under par on the first day. He had an amazing start, as he score two birdies on the first two holes. The rest of the front nine comprised simple pars.
He even had a good start to the back nine, as he scored a birdie on the eleventh hole.
After that, his game started to look a bit shaky, as he scored a double bogey on the fifteenth hole and a bogey on the seventeenth. Another birdie on the final hole of the day made his total score for the day one-under par.
Hansen’s second day was even better on the front nine. He was able to card two birdies on the fourth and sixth hole. A bogey on the eighth hole made his scores two-under par.
The Dane professional golfer started off his back nine with five consecutive pars. Then, he carded two more consecutive birdies on the fifteenth and sixteenth hole. Hansen ended his day with a bogey on the seventeenth hole and another birdie on the eighteenth
hole.
There were no eagles or double bogeys for the day. Therefore, he was three-under par, which made his total score after two days four-under par. On the second day, he was able to finish the 7347-yard course in 68 shots.
Hansen is tied at the third position with South African professional golfer George Coetzee, who ranks 74th in the world.
Sweden’s Alexander Noren has occupied the second position with five-under par after two days. The leader of the French Open after two days is Germany’s Marcel Siem, who has a magnificent six-under par.
There are still two days in the tournament and at the moment, Anders Hansen is just two shots behind the leader of the Open. It is still anyone’s game as the points’ difference is very less between the players on top of the leaderboard. A single shot can
drastically change the face of the game.
Hansen has a very good chance to win the trophy. He has the opportunity, he just needs to avail it. His previous record also sides with him, as he has 4 professional wins, out of which 3 came on the European Tour.
Another aspect which should be kept in mind while predicting the outcome of the Open is the course itself. The venue for the tournament is Le Golf National, one of the toughest courses in Europe.
Till now Hansen has displayed a great performance. To win the tournament, he will have to play a similar sort of consistent game in the coming two days.
