  1. Cats are not color blind. they can see some color, but in their own way, not like we see color.

But it really doesnt matter what color you paint it, not at all, your cat wont care what color it is. Just paint it as you like.

Tho, cats can see blue pretty well, but im not sure.

    but again, it doesnt matter.

Oh, and, i know this isnt the question, but your cat sounds more like a tortishell if she is more black, but eh, it could be a calico, just a dark one. i only say that because i have a tortie, and love her^^

    Good luck!

  2. cats have poor color vision, I'd suggest to put BRIGHT, NEON colors! :]

  3. Cats can't have favorite colors, and if they they do then they can't express themselves about it. So if you have any leftover paint or anything you can use that so you save money.

Congratulations on the new addition! I am getting  a new kitten soon too.

  4. Well,i read somewhere that cats are colour-blind.So i don't think it should make a difference to your cat.Make it a colour that looks good to human eyes and the cat should like it just as much.

  5. You are so sweet to wonder about this.  Your cat will discern what YOUR favorite colour is and will decide that that is the preferred colour.  What's more, your cat [with cat wisdom from all the ages] will be exactly right.  Ruby sounds perfect.  Go with your gut and heart.   moie

  6. My cat can tell if I'm wearing black pants and throws himself at me.  He's mostly white.

  7. Cones and Color Vision

Cats have poor detail vision compared to humans. And because cones are also responsible for color vision, cats have comparatively poor color vision. But they’re not colorblind. Instead, they have the same type of color vision as many people who are called colorblind: a type of red-green colorblindness termed deuteranopia. They can see blue versus other color fine, but tend to confuse colors on the red through brown through green continuum.
