Yes, I can. What's ridiculous is that people in this country were warned. Insted of listening to the economists, liberals and environmentalist... Americans listened to right-wing radio and called those who predicted this calamity as socialists, communists and eco-terrorists.  

Well guess what? Instead of listening to those who predicted it, we wantonly drove ourselves into it.   I remember when Rush Limbaugh called a bunch of economists who predicted gas shooting through the roof a bunch of "communists social engineers" who are trying to get Americans to become Europeans...

Obviously, there are too many humans, the government didn't do anything for 30 years, the environmental regulations made it too difficult to build more refineries in this country, and we have this capitalistic system and private ownership of oil (kind of like a monopoly). China and India want gas now too.   The dollar is worthless nowadays so we pay more for everything being imported.  But, I don't want to hear anymore people say we have it easy compared to the Europeans because they pay more for gas. Europe is smaller. They have electric trains. And, their gas is high because the government taxes it outrageously.

I think it's a bit of gouging too with the commodities markets too.  They have been telling us that we are going to pay $4.00 a gallon for gas for a few months now. Now, gas goes up every Memorial Day weekend (and you notice - it's preemptorily increased).  When people haven't sucked up the supply of gas for holiday traveling yet, the supply shouldn't have gown down until after the holiday !! SO, the supply and demand theory is ridiculous.
