Can Anyone Compare/Contrast Washington DC and London, England?

London is ten times bigger, ten times older and much more diverse. Every city is unique, but I think the closest American city to London is probably New York in terms of atmosphere and diversity.

There are aspects of London and DC which are similar. The White House can be compared to Buckingham Palace, The Capital to the House of Parliament, the Smithsonian to the British Museum, the Lincoln Memorial to Trafalgar Square, the Vietnam Veterans Memorial to the Cenotaph. But in general, London is louder, more crowded and has more history than Washington.

There is one notable link the two city share. London was once the capital city of the most powerful nation on Earth, a title currently held by Washington DC.
