  1. The Shining.  Jack Nicholson was great.  The shot of the kid on his Hot Wheels was genius.

The Langoliers.  Made for TV 2 part movie.  Very suspenseful.

  2. needful things

  3. To be honest, the only movies based on Stephen King stories that are worth a d**n are Misery, The Shining, The Dead Zone, and Shawshank Redemption.

Most the others that I've seen - Salems Lot, It, Pet Semetary, Cujo, Needful Things, etc - are pretty awful.

  4. Its so hard because there are so many awful Stephen King movies!!!

I didnt know the mist was one of his... I did enjoy that one.

I liked his version on The Shining- it went for about 5 hours, though

The Stand (also a long one but well worth it)

Cujo- cant go too wrong- its just a rabid st. bernard trying to eat ppl.

The dead zone (the movie) Christopher Walken rules

Salems Lot (new version) wasnt too bad- dont watch the old one

Stand By me- not a horror but a classic

Cats Eye (i think thats what it was called) 3 good short films

The Green Mile (not quite a horror but great flick)

Ive seen so many but having hard time trying to think of the good ones!

  5. as others have said:

    -Stand By Me

-The Shinning (though, this is one Stephen King wasn't too fond of. Unless you get the one that isn't by Kubrick)

    - Carrie

    - It

    - The Green Mile

    - Misery

    - Rose Red

    - Thinner

Those are my all time favorites. The mini-series' are pretty cool, too. Like The Stand

  6. it

    misery

  7. yes, these ppl are correct:

    THE SHINING

    CARRIE

    IT

    for horror

    &

SHAWSHANK REDEMPTION (one of the best movies period)

    STAND BY ME

    GREEN MILE

    for great classic storytelling

  8. The absolute best Stephen King adaptation ever put to film was that of THE SHINING by Stanley Kubrik.  A true classic.

  9. CARRIE

    CHRISTINE

    IT

    SILVER BULLET

    CUJO

  10. Salem's Lot (the 1980's TV miniseries)

The Shining (yeah, the one starring Jack Nicholson)

    The Shawshank Redemption

    Carrie

    The Green Mile

  11. Carrie

    Salems Lot

Pet Sematary (yes it's spelled that way)

    The Shawshank Redemption

    Children of the Corn

  12. pet sematary (spelled with an 'S' not 'C') is pretty scary!
