  1. Hey Pomanz

I like that you are interested in Irish which was my first language as a child. If there is any way I can help you, at any time,  use the e-mail contact behind my profile and I WILL help. [That goes for ANYBODY reading this].

Irish is quite easy to learn but it is a VERY ancient language with roots in Hungary and tentacles going back to Persia and further. So it is very different from ALL the modern "Romance" languages deriving from Greek and Latin.

It is amazingingly free of cross-fertilisation [some would say pollutuion] from Nordic, Germanic and other language forms. The structure and format of grammatical construction is quite similar to French, as I found out when I learned French.

By the way it IS called "Irish" to differentiate from "Gaelic" which is the Scottish variant.

  2. 1. Éire

    2.a) éireannach (nationality)

       b) gaeilge (language)

    3) an Tam

  4. 1. Eire

    2. Gaeilge

    3. An tam

  5. -Ireland on its own is spelled 'Eire' but it changes depending on the context of the sentence, most commonly changes to 'Eireann'

-Irish: Eireannach, Gaeilge-again it depends on the sentence, if you're talking about Irish being a language its 'gaeilge'

-time: am (pronounced owm) 'the time' is 'an-tam' (pronounced on tawm)

there are so many exceptions to every rule it gets incredibly frustrating when you're trying to learn it! lol-hope this helps :D
