Huge favorite.... and must ppl have given him the winner's circle already. Could create a HUGE minus pool for pimilco...... Should one just put him on top and try to pick the order of the "second race"..... or will we be kicking ourselves in the end???

  1. Gayego is the only one with a shot If you get him at 10-1 or better bet it.

  2. Depending on the track condition, there are 2 horses that can beat him. Kentucky Bear is one who has been training extremely well in the past 3 weeks and is ready for a breakout. The other is Racecar Rhapsody, who ran to a 4th place finish in his last race after being bumped twice throughout the race. He ended up with a beyer rating of 95 and flew from the back of the field.

  3. I've never understood why bettors continue to pound

money on a 1 to 5 or less favorite.  The risk/reward

just isn't there.  Yes, it would be no surprise if Big Brown

cakewalks in the Preakness, but the potential for an

upset is greater than the surety of winning 10 to 20 cents

on the dollar.  I have seen many "sure things" fall apart

    in horse racing.

I do have BB on top with a specific 40/1 second or third, and 3 other horses to come in for the trifecta.  That's my

cover my a** bet.  But I have more $ bet on my 40/1

in an exacta wheel with all, and tri-wheel with BB coming in second or third.  If any of that happens, the payoff will

    be tremendous.

Either way, horse race betting is a tough game to be successful at.

  4. Big Brown IS the most likely winner.  People already recognize that.

  5. Yes, anyone in the field can beat him because anything can happen and there could well be a surprise ‘sleeper’ lurking in this race such as was the 20-1 odds Eight Belles at the Derby who was the only horse that was a serious challenge to Big Brown in the final stretch. His performance in the Derby was certainly impressive but this is an entirely different field of horses he is competing against today, all except Gayego. So the competition today will go a long way toward answering whether or not Big Brown is a champion or was just the best of the bunch at the Derby. A win today then would send him to the final test at the Belmont to answer whether or not Big Brown is a true champion or just one of the many above average horses in thoroughbred racing.

    (R.I.P. Eight Belles)

  6. Dusty Carpet will take some beating,ey?

  7. he prob just wins today......

but in the belmont, casino drive will be hard to beat

  8. There are no sure things.  In the last 30 years, 10% of the favorites have won the Kentucky Derby.  There have been NO Triple Crown winners.  Big Brown's a great horse, that's not in question.  I would include him in a trifecta box, but I wouldn't bet him as the winner.  He might pay $2.20 on a $2 win bet....  not worth it....

  9. I hope he can win this race and the Belmont. it has been too long since we had a triple crown winner...good luck to all of them though..I'll be watching for sure

  10. I really hope he wins...we havent had a triple crown in a long time...Big Brown deserves to win.....the way he practices......go Big Brown!

  11. I think only Eight Belles could have challenged him so.....We'll see you at Belmont.

  12. He may be a huge favorite, but that doesn't guarantee he's going to win.  Most Derby winners are usually huge favorites, and they don't always win.
