I hear people saying that killing animals is murder. Can anyone truly say they have NEVER killed an animal Even after becoming a Vegan?

  1. Well it says in the BIBLE "Thou shall not kill."  As one of the ten commandments.  But that means we should not kill a person.

Now wild animals are a different story.  When you go hunting you kill ducks, rabbits, squirrels, fish, chicken, turkey, cows.

    And other wild animals like:

    Snakes

    Wolves and anything with raybees

  2. The meaning of the "meat is murder" saying is that unnecessary, intentional killing is wrong.      It's one thing if you're driving and kill a butterfly accidentally when he flies into your windshield.  It's quite another to take an animal such as a pig (which is as smart as a dog), force it to live in cramped filth, and then kill it painfully just so someone can have a McRib sandwich.

No person *needs* meat to survive.  Vegans can live health lives without any meat.  Therefore, any killing of animals for food, fur, or fun is unnecessary.

It's rooted in the belief that all life should be respected.  How can we teach our kids to respect other peoples' lives when we teach them it's fine to cause a painful death to animals for recreation or culinary pleasure?

You may not agree with these ideas. It's just where the "murder" concept comes from.

  3. ya i've never killed an animal literally

  4. No

  5. yes there was a time when i was young 30 years ago that i have hunted for skins, when i got stuck with an old trapper on a mountain range in Northern Canada for a year.

,but this made me like the animals more ,and i stopped killing wild animals after that and never again did i kill for skins.

As a kid i hunted squirrels ,and i have hunted many times for food

    >But this is a different world than 40 years ago

My views have changed and so has my lust for blood ,But since then. i have still butchered domestic animals for the pot ,that i had bred.

And I have had to shoot the odd wounded bless buck ,that the Alpha male was stalking and he would have killed it any way ,.and it ended up on the menu in the restaurant.

Today i do not have the stomach any more to do the killing .so I ask somebody else .

does this make me less of an Environmentalist ??

Many professional Hunters that i have met both in Canada and in Africa ,spend more time today on Animal conservation than on hunting them

the hunting was a great education on Animal behavior

Is there a hidden rule that says our attitudes only count if they have been the same all our lives ?

I am not a vegan but eat a lot less meat than before ,and a lot more vegetables .

So yes all in all i have killed a lot in my life ,but that was a long time ago

    these are my views today
