I am a fiction writer looking to develop a story around a graduate student who misuses the gas to heighten arousal.

  1. It is not argon which is dangerous since this gas is inert . But, if you give pure argon without oxygen,it is the lack of oxygen which acts as a  poison

  2. NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO!

    YOU MISTAKE THE GAS:XENON

    IT IS USED IN anesthesia,

it is abused as a drug:http://www.erowid.org/experiences/exp.ph...

hhehe.it.s expensive.but then u can say it increase sexual desire

and plagiarise from Strange Case of Dr Jekyll and Mr Hyde

or,u can say that KGB poissoned with xenon THE OVAL OFFICE(o*****e?)and mr.bush and mrs.condy and the graduate student(of an un disclosed s*x)....

  3. Argon is an inert gas and is heavier than air. It displaces oxygen and has side effects such as collecting in your bones and filling your lungs. The solution to ridding Argon from your lungs is to lie with your feet up and head down so the Argon will drain out. It can asphixiate and make you feel ill depending on how much you get.

It could be used in a story in the manner you describe.

  4. Basically Argon would behave the same way that breathing in helium would, except the pitch of the voice would be lower than with helium.

This is a very risky thing to do.  Any noble gas would behave the same way, depriving the breather or oxygen.  The increase in pleasure comes from the sudden destruction of the ego in the dying process and is actually not related to sexual arousal or pleasures although people who experiment mistakenly think it does.  Like many toxic drugs the amount needed for intoxication and death are too close to each other to be a reasonable choice of action.
