  1. Ohh snap Bottom Line likes soccer??? I never knew that i tought that Y2HBK and i were the only ones who liked soccer on the wrestling section.

Yes definetly they can come back even tough they lost 2 of there main players Deco and Ronaldinho they still looked really sharp in there previous match and they also won the game. If they keep players like Messi and Eto'o healthy then i will almost gurantee them to be a top team again with are without Deco and Ronaldinho.

  2. They certainly have the talent to win it.

Two key factors to look at are injuries and the new coach.

Two years ago Eto'o was lost for five months and Messi was out for two - both simultaneously out in December and January - and yet they finished level on points with Real Madrid and had a better goal difference. Only the curious tiebreaker of head-to-head aggregate cost them the title.

Last season Messi again was lost for over two months (one month during the Christmas/New Year holidays and six weeks in March/April) while Eto'o was injured another three months as well as playing for Cameroon in the ACN for four weeks.

When your two main scorers go missing for that extended period of time, points will be dropped.

With both healthy, the sky's the limit.

As for Guardiola, he appears unafraid to tell million euro athletes just who exactly is in charge. Ronaldinho wasn't willing to abide by the 10pm curfew imposed by Pep so good riddance to him. The other dressing room cancer, Deco, is off to England looking great against the poor defending that league is infamous for.

Last season after thrashing Levante at home 5-1 at the end of February Barça were only two points behind top spot in the league.

In March and April they only picked up seven points from nine matches (!) By the time they hammered Valencia 6-0 in early May, they were no longer in contention.

Much of the blame has to go to Rijkaard, who believed in self-regulation as far as getting his players back on form.

Guardiola is old school, knows the club inside-out and will demand his players live up to what is expected from the board and socios alike.

As for the talent on the pitch, Valdes can be frustratingly uncoordinated especially on high balls, left back isn't quite convincing with an aging Sylvinho and questionable Abidal (I hope Lahm arrives next summer on a free) and Henry himself says he'd be better in the middle rather than on the left wing. Ronaldinho has still yet to be replaced. Silva or Arshavin would've been ideal.

With Sneijder out for awhile "Los Putos Blancos" are finally tasting some of the karma that struck Eto'o and Messi the past 24 months.

Last season LPB dropped 29 points total in the league. That's the least amount dropped since Real won it in 1990. Better than the Galacticos; better than the Dream Team.

They cannot be so fortunate again this season.

  3. Yes, but they have to put the team together first!

  4. Well they will definitely compete, but I can't say whether they can actually win until I see them play a few games in la liga. Their team seems to be great though and I think this year the race will be much closer.

  5. yes!

they were really strong in preseason matches. and some of those matches were without messi. messi is on his top form after winning the olympic games.

they will be strong this season!
