  1. He already is and without all the other nonsense that came with Manny.  Bay comes and plays hard everyday.  He may not be the big time power threat Manny was, but, he is a solid all-around outfielder.

  2. Jason Bay has been a very solid and great hitter for the Pittsburgh Pirates. He grew very quickly in their system and because of that quick growth became a true player to trade for a guy like Manny Ramirez.

Now, he may not be like Ramirez, but trust me, he's quite close towards his abilities. Bay might not be hitting 45 homerun seasons, but 35+ would definitely be good from him.

In short, the good things you get from Bay may not equal Ramirez but are definitely younger and helpful tools to build the ball club in the longer run.

    Hope this helps

  3. Yes becuase Jason Bay as been hitting since he left pittsburgh

  4. Bay's production will not be as good as Manny's, but Bay is a more consistent player.  Bay is there to play and to win, Manny was not.  Bay will not be the distraction Manny was.  Overall, I think Bay is a better fit for the team.

  5. Bay seems to be doing a good job.  If Manny hadn't been tanking it to get traded and playing hard -- well, we wouldn't be having this conversation.

Edit: Bay is now playing on a contender with a great line-up around him.  As opposed to where he was playing.  He doesn't have to be top dog.  Just play his game.

  6. Bay's production is probably not quite that of Manny's, but it comes close. And bay does it without all the drama and unpredictability. I think the Red Sox are better off now.

  7. He already has.

  8. yes he can and the fans will love him

his stats are as good as manny's

the only bad thing is he does not have playoff experience

  9. No way. Who is the center peice guy for the Sox now? Ortiz? Please.

Manny was the ticket seller for the Sox. Bay can never be what Manny is and was.

  10. I think JBay has been a great pickup for the Sox. He is a much better clubhouse prescense than Manny and boy does he work hard. He hustles hard on every play and is deterined to play ball the way it is supposed to be played. His work ethic is tremendous and he really has provided a breath of fresh air to this Red Sox ballcub. With Manny on the dicline anyway, I think Bay is a definite upgrade and there is no doubt he can fill the void left by Ramirez.

  11. No, Manny really is a RARE player/hitter. He was the heart of that lineup. Bay will falter, & it will be figured out how much the Red Sox will miss Manny.

  12. He will fill the fielding problem in left field. But if you look at the stats since the trade, Manny is destoying Bay in offense performance. But Many was not doing too well on the Sox, and Bay is doing just as well, if not batter than Manny was while he was with the Red Sox.

Also the Red Sox traded away their 4 hitter, a reliever who sucks d**k, but may be good in 6 years, and a decent back-uup outfielder, for someone who is now batting 6th in their line-up. Awful trade on their part.
