  1. Bloody Mary, huh? When we were kids it was Candyman.

  2. No, but if you go in a Hall of Mirrors and try it, she comes out of EVERY single mirror.  A kid in New Jersey tried that one time and they never found all the pieces.

    Sorry, I couldn't resist that.

Seriously, it's an urban legend, and people have asked questions about it so often on this site that you'd be better off just searching for past answers.

  3. There are so many different renditions of the legend. There actually was one that said she can get you if you're not looking at the mirror, but you would've had to do something really REALLY REALLY bad.

However, like mentioned above, too many different ways the legend is told, don't worry, sweet dreams. It's just playing with your fears....or making one

  4. bloody marry isn't real,candy man isn't real,the grudged isn't real!

  5. I've done the bloody mary thing when I was younger. Stood in a pitch black bathroom, looked into the mirror, spun around and said her name three times. I saw nothing.

  6. NAH she wont get you...ok when u say "bloody mary i have your baby" now that's different

  7. and when i was a kid, it was you (the person who fear candyman).

  8. No, nor will she "get you" if you are looking in the mirror, sleeping, home alone, riding a bike, yodeling, or ballroom dancing. She won't "get you", period. It's just "oooo, spooky" stuff designed to scare giggly little schoolgirls and other highly impressionable preteens. Of course it's not real.

  9. No - while the legend is based on a rather nasty historical character, this is more or less a fun urban legend like saying "Redrum" 3 times or even stepping on cracks and assuming it will break your mother's back.

However, the mirror is, in the occult world, a well-known portal, and there are methods to bringing in otherworldly spirits (usually ones you don't want,) through the use of mirrors, even if doing certain things unintentionally. Also, mirrors are used for "scrying" or seeing into the future (one alleged method,) which this tale of bloody mary may be a cautionary tale against "scrying" or occult practices.

In real life, who would actually bring something out to be pulled into a mirror and eaten alive? ;) No one. It plays on your need to show how much "guts" you have, and, while this doesn't work, its meant as a statement against occult practices.
