Can Brittany Lincicome win Evian Masters Title?
Brittany Lincicome will play in the 2012 Evian Masters but will she win the title?
The answer varies, depending on who you ask. The experts may answer with an indecisive ‘Perhaps!’, while the fans of the American golfer will not hesitate before a ‘Yes!’
This contradiction stems from the fact that Lincicome’s record so far indicates that she is fairly unpredictable on the golf course.
This might be a good thing for a player but it makes analysis and subsequent prediction very difficult.
Brittany Lincicome hails from Florida, USA. She is a golf prodigy who started playing golf at the age of 9. This early start gave her the taste of the game and she embarked on a highly decorated amateur career.
She participated in more than a hundred tournaments during her amateur years. She had an amazing 60% win record, a truly amazing figure for an amateur player.
She participated in top junior level competitions and won a couple of top tier events.
She turned professional in 2004. This she did with a tie for the 20th position on LPGA 2004 Final Qualifying Tournament. This win also gave her an exemption status for 2005 LPGA events.
2010 was a good year for Lincicome. She bagged the second position in Navistar LPGA Classic Presented by Monaco RV. This was her year’s best performance.
However, it was definitely not the end for Lincicome. She appeared in the Bell Micro LPGA Classic, where she secured the second position again. Later in the year, she managed a tie for the fifth position at the Mizuno Classic.
This great record was an indication of better performances to come in 2011. Lincicome did not disappoint the fans. She played brilliantly throughout the year and won two LPGA titles.
She appeared in CN Canadian Women's Open and won by a one-stroke lead. She played against Michelle Wie and Stacy Lewis, both are experienced players from the US.
Her second 2011 win was at ShopRite LPGA Classic. This was again a one-stroke victory against Cristie Kerr and Jiyai Shin, both experienced players have a strong international standing.
So far, she has played well in 2012. She has taken part in 11 events. She has fared well in these events, posting top-10 wins in three events.
This is great show from the Lincicome, who is expected to do equally well in the upcoming Evian Masters.
Evian Masters is particularly important for Brittany Lincicome. This is an event that carries great prestige and attracts many sponsors. If she could manage a top-3 or even a top-10 finish, she would be all set for the year.
Evian Masters carries personal memories for Lincicome. In the 2011 edition of the event, the airline lost her golf bag and she had to contact her sponsors in a hurry.
She arrived late to the venue because she missed a connecting flight. On top of that, her clubs got misplaced. Despite that, she was very calm about the whole thing.
She said, “If worst comes to worst, the golf course has rentals I could use so it’s not a big deal”. Fortunately, she received a replacement set and played the tournament with her own clubs.
Lincicome managed a 14th position in that event. If this ranking and her performance in 2012 are to be considered, she has a great chance to attain a top-10 finish.
