  1. Not really

  2. Calzaghe is good, but he better hope Hopkins turns old on Saturday night because that is his best chance.

  3. The Magic 8 Ball Says Chances Are No---Oh--- I Am The Blogbaba

  4. YES.!!  as he can outbox any boxer on the planet, OK ill give credit where credit is due - that Hopkins is a great fighter but for me Calzaghe is pound 4 pound number 1 boxer today,

If Calzaghe sticks to his game-plan he will have to much firepower for Hopkins,

Hopkins best chance of beating Calzaghe will be to fight a real dirty fight.!!

but remember Joe Cordez will be refereeing the fight,

  5. Sure can, he had better outbox him because if he tries to fight on the inside it will be much tougher! If you want to read about this fight head on over to http://www.fightjunkie.com/predictions they have a write-up on the fight and also a forum where you can go and chat about this and many other fight related stuff.

  6. No way. Hopkins is one of the best technical fighters ever. Calzaghe needs to fight the fight of his life to pull off this win.

  7. He could certainly win by outworking Hopkins. Not so sure about outboxing him. That's not really Joe's game. He operates by trying to overwhelm the opponent by throwing lots of shots.

  8. Hopkins is a crafty old fighter who knows every cheating move in the book. That said,  NO WAY he beats Calzaghe unless he throws that coconut head around and gets a cut.

Hopkins can't hide behind his shoulder against the swarm of punches he will receive from Calzaghe.

  9. yes, yes he can.

  10. Calzaghe can neither outbox or outthink Hopkins. He is going to rely on the overwhelming punch count. But I wouldnt count on that happening.

Please keep in mind that Calzaghe is going up in weight to take this fight. He is going to get hit harder by Hopkins than any other fighter he has fought, including Kessler. Kessler was stronger, but he didnt hit as quick or have the economy in his punching that Hopkins does.

By the way, keep in mind that Calzaghe is going to have to figure out what Hopkins plan is anyway...he is going to be resetting his feet constantly. Again, this wont be a runaway fight if Calzaghe wins...it will be barely. And if he squares up his shoulders and tries to flurry...dont be surprised if you hear the collective gasp of the crowd when his butt hits the canvas. He gets away with that fighting lower calibur competition...keeping his shoulders square to flurry also squares up his feet (taking him off balance) and makes his head a VERY easy target.

  11. Hopkins is the better boxer & slicker fighter.   I say Calzaghe needs to have this be a fight or a brawl in order to win.  If he stays on the outside B-Hop will pick him apart.   I will say this Hopkins fights are always at his pace so I don't know if anything Joe will do will matter anyway.   I'm picking Hopkins by unanimous decision.

  12. I think the real question is, "Can he outsmart B-Hop?"
