Mine has a boyfriend of sorts, they keep playing, and following each other around.

They meet up late at night, so I was wondering, can Cats love?

  1. And they call it kitty looooove.

  2. no I don't think so, I think she just wants to mate.... cats aren't like the cats you see on disney movies

  3. I think so.  I have a part siamese cat and she loves to flirt with male cats even though she's fixed lol.

I think they can feel some sort of attraction to each other.

  4. what a freak

  5. i wonder that myself.

  6. I think you are all wrong. Yes, they can love. I feed a family of cats outside. Have for several years. The mom and her son, and his family . They have two kittens now. The kittens are always together, sleeping on top of each other and playing together all the time. They go their separate ways during the day but are back together at night as the family. The father and mother are away from each other but at times are laying next to each other under a bush. It is very definite they have a closeness. Why couldn't they love? Are we so all about ourselves to think we are so superhuman above any other creatures? They live and breathe just like us. They just look different. I just hope I get to see the day that we are visited by a superior race and they look at us and say lets call them cows. They are so stupid!

  7. My cat does that to my boyfriend!   lol.  She is in love with him.

I highly doubt your cat is in LOVE but more in LUST (they smell each other and want to mate).

  8. They can't "be in love", but they can sure love each other as friends.

  9. No. But they can have friends.

Domestic cats are naturally independent animals. They're incredibly adaptive and efficient. They can live as a single cat or with several others. They can live on their own or with people.

They don't love. Say they are really close to someone or another cat and that person/cat leaves, they might look around for their friend for a few days. But after that. . . it's basically out of sight, out of mind.

This is not to say cats don't bond with each other. Three of mine (two boys, one girl, all neutered) play, chase, and wrestle with each other. They sleep together on the bed/sofa/counter/table/floor and sometimes they sleep by themselves.
