Can Children wear shorts into the Vatican City? ( Kid is 12)?

we are going to the Vatican City next week and want to know if young children can wear shorts?

To be on the safe side, heads, arms and legs (skin) should be covered up.

You will be turned away and not allowed to enter if the UZI armed security guards don't like the way you, or anyone else in your party are dressed.  

Trust me -- been there, done that - got kicked out!

Google the vatican city and their website will give you the details of how you should dress. I am a woman and was told no trousers no short skirts, no bare arms or shoulders and cover my head.

I think that you can go into Vatican City dressed however. but i know that adults can't get into the St.Peters church if they are wearing clothes above their knees and also, for women, if they wear shirts without sleeves. I really dunno about kids.

Oh, and you cant bring sharp metal objects into the cathedral, you have to pass through the scanner, so pay attention.
