Hi.

I have 2 Chinese dwarf hamsters and they are in seperate cages. If introduced will they get along? How do I go about doing so? At first they were both together but one lost it's tail, in I assume, fighting. Should I risk it?

  1. Chinese Hamsters are technically not dwarf hamsters.  They belong to a group of hamsters called pygmys, along with Mouse Like Hamsters, Rat Like Hamsters, and European Hamsters.  Dwarf hamsters are social and friendly to each other, pygmys and Syrians are not.  My friend had his Chinese together, but had to seperate them because of fighting.

  2. Chinese dwarfs are not to be paired together as fighting will occur. as most petstores do alot of Solitary hamsters are kept together. These are the Syrains and the chinese dwarfs.

I have ound this information on http://www.hamsterific.com/ChineseHamste...

    Have fun with your hammies.

  3. Chinese Dwarf hamsters are actually almost as solitary as Syrians.. I don't recommend trying to keep them together. Best to keep them in two separate cages.
