  1. I have never heard of one being towed on tint alone, but illegal tint is a ticketable offense.

  2. Yes they can.  If the law in the state where you live calls for a certain percentage on window tint and it is darker than that percentage then a police officer has the right to ticket it and if they are in a bad mood they can legally tow the car.

  3. Many states have laws forbidding tinted windows, or windows tinted beyond a certain measure. Cops can write you a ticket for that, but I don't know about towing.

  4. Yup. There are certian laws when it comes to tinted windows. Some windows can only be tinted a certian percentage.

  5. from what Ive heard, only if the tinted windows are in your front windows or your windsheild..if those windows are tinted, it would disrupt your field of vision..i havent heard f towing, but i dont think thats too far-fetched, cops can be dic...i mean they can be mean.

  6. Yes to both.

Window tint obstructs vision, and is illegal in most states. If your car is found to be illegal, they may tow it for liability reasons. An officer can not give permission to drive an illegally equipped car.

  7. Yes, and friends of mine have been ticketd for it. I am not so sure about towing it, I guess that is something you should check with your state about, but ticketing, yes.

  8. well you can get ticketed. legally, you can go up to 35% tinting. (meaning 35% of your car's interior is visible). well its hard to explain but you know what i mean.

the reason is because cops feel that if they cant see whats going on inside your car, its dangeros to them. some psycho could be in the back seat with a gun, and the officer would never know.
