  1. You better believe it !!  Organic wit no sugar added is the best.

I use it when I get infected and about three days all is well.

  2. I get UTIs a lot, and i've pretty much got my own holistic remedy down pat.

When I feel one coming on, i usually have to sit on the toilet for about half an hour to 45 minutes (if im in a place where i can do that), so that whenever my body filters more urine, it doesnt sit in my bladder, and it can start to flush stuff away. in the mean time, i drink LOTS of cranberry juice (not the cocktail), orange juice, and water with lemon and lime juice in it. drink that sh*t constantly, GO WHEN YOU FEEL IT, instead of trying to hold it, and the infection will go away on its own. if it doesnt, or it keeps coming back, the infection might have spread to your kidneys, and you should go to the doctor.

alcohol always helps too, when blended with acidic citrus juices.

  3. I wouldn't rely solely on cranberry juice to heal a UTI. If the bacteria gets up into the bladder, the repercussions could be more long-term and lasting.

  4. Depends on what you mean by "cure".  Will it kill the bacterial infection?  No.  However, it can, possibly, flush out much of the bacteria present and give your body a chance to defeat the infection on its own.

That said, a bladder infection is nothing to mess with.  If it continues to grow, it could reach your kidneys and cause some serious damage (depending on which bacteria/strain you've contracted).  You really should consult a professional (MD, ND, or whatever form of medicine you prefer),if only to have someone monitoring your progress.  If it were me, I'd probably go with Chinese herbs (my medicine of choice) first--but if that didn't resolve the problem, or the pain got any worse, I wouldn't hesitate to get some antibiotics.

    Good luck!

  5. Sure it can, but buy it unsweetened at the health food store and mix with water.  It's tart but drinkable.  Include 1000 mg of vit c every 4 hours and tons of water w/ cranberry juice and in 1-2 days you should be much better.  I'd continue with the juice and C for a week.

  6. It can help prevent or treat UTI.  It acidifies the urine and makes some changes in the bladder lining so that it is more difficult for the bacteria to adhere.

If it doesn't work in a couple days, then you will probably have to go on antibiotics anyway, but it is worth a try.

  7. I would urge you to see your MD. I am an RPh and while the cranberry juice is useful, the answers that indicate "YES...and you betcha..." are woefully misguided. Dan had the best answer, although I personally am not an advocate in Chinese Med...No offense to Dan...his answer is a good one and reflects his personal preferences - I simply prefer traditional medicine.

Bottom line - a simple UTI has a cheap and simple fix. If you try to "treat" it with cranberry juice and end up with a kidney infection, you will regret not seeking care sooner.  If cost is an issue for you, there are often many clinics that allow pt's to see doctors, nurse practitioners and physicians assistants for a sliding scale = pay what you are able. Also, there are many very effective and inexpensive drugs avail - make sure you tell your md that you want a generic.

    Good Luck!

  8. Yes it's a great natural remedy

  9. Besides cranberry juice the natural antibiotics colloidal silver and garlic oil also help.

  10. Sure, I have done it.  Although I had to drink A LOT of juice.  I suggest getting AZO Cranberry pills instead and then drink plenty of water.

  11. No it wont it might help with the pain at first and it might stifle the infection but if you don't go to a doctor it will get worse
