Can Crickets Kill Frogs and Lizards?

Question

I heard from someone that their pet lizard was killed from a cricket (that was being feed to the lizard) because the cricket nipped its spine..Is this true?Do they have nippers?

I just looked in my frog's cage because I thought I smelled something dead and I liften up his coconut where he sleeps and the crickets had eaten him :(
