To me he dosent look like a heavyweight he is too fast, too small, but he possesses unbelievable one punch KO power. HIs chin is questionable his power in feared and his speed impressed me. How would he fare with guys like Peter and Klischko?

  1. I've been curious as to how some good hand speed would affect Klitchzo.  Haye looked a good deal faster than the current crop of heavies, and Im wondering if the difference in handspeed could toss out conventional wisdom and give us a little man for a heavyweight champion.  Is he fast enough or good enough, I dunno.  But I'm interested.

  2. I think he could be a huge success. Personally I think he would mop the floor with Klitchko. They both have questionable chins but the difference is Haye is willing to take a chance and go for the big punches. Klitchko just stays behind the jab scared of getting hit and I don't think he could handle someone coming at him with hammers like Haye!!

  3. I'm going to go out on a limb and say Haye will be the next undisputed heavyweight champ. I was very impressed with his win over Macerenelli and see him ko'ing the current crop of heavyweight titleholders.

Regarding his chin, yes he went down against Mormeck but Haye has said he was only 60-70% for that fight due to making the weight. His one loss against Thompson was due to Haye running out of gas, not a weak chin, the the problem hasn't recurred since. Remember both Jack Dempsey and Joe Louis were actually KO'd before they became world champions.

Haye is 6'3", has an 80" plus reach and will come in about 220lb at heavyweight, which in my view is the ideal size. I don't think the extra weight carried by most of today's heavyweights gives them any real advantage, it just makes them slow and power doesn't incease significantly above 220lb. Haye will be stronger, almost certainly more powerful and hopefully just as quick at heavyweight. We could at last be seeing the end of the talent famine in the heavyweight division.

  4. Yeah the  Heavyweights are bums execept THE STEEL HAMMER

  5. i think he can can definately.he hits hard enough to ko heavyweights. he has good speed and last night was in unbelievable condition.

  6. I don't think he will do well.  Right now his defense appears to be very porous, so he will be a prime candidate to suffer from knockouts when he moves up.  When he adds weight, he will lose speed and stamina.  I think his power will be more along the lines of average or worse against the top heavy weights.

Right now he's relying on speed and power to win, but both of those will be diminished in the move up.  Since he will be fighting slower fighters, the speed thing might even out, but he will lose his power edge.  Although with the current competition he might have a chance.

  7. Why not? Evander Holyfield and Chris Byrd are small heavyweights and they both did well so why not David Hayes.

  8. I was extremley impressed by his easy kayo of Enzo. And man that short right was devasting! He does have a questionable chin and would be a dwarf in size compared to Peter (250) and Dr. Lamehammer but his speed could play a serious factor against either. If he were to land the 'Hayemaker' on Wlad or Peter it would be nite nite for both. The interesting thing now in the Heavyweight division is that u have Klitschko and Peter who hold most of the belts and both have very questionable chins. Changeav seems like a none factor.

The division could turn into a free for all when Potvetkin gets more fights and Haye moves up carrying that punch. I think the heavys just got a little bit more interesting. Just pray John Ruiz who won 2nite dont mess it up and Vitali stays retired instead of demanding his right to fight Sam Peter.
