Nikolay Davydenko has just two wins from 14 matches against world No. 1 Roger Federer, but importantly those last two wins came in their two most recent matches – both semi-finals, the first at the 2009 World Tour Finals and then in Doha in January 2010. In their Australian Open quarter-final, the Russian is looking for his third straight win over Federer. The Swiss has displayed some ominous form at the Australian Open so far, but that didn’t stop journalists early in the piece questioning Federer on whether he feared Davydenko, who has won four tournaments since last year’s US Open. Should be a cracker.
