  1. There are many subfields of aeronautical engineering, some of which utilize computer science.  The subfield of control engineering, for example, is heavily based around computer science.  Electrical engineers working in control engineering would use their knowledge to help design the circuitry and flight control systems of aircraft and spacecraft, as an example.

Someone with a computer science degree would have a little more difficulty transitioning to some other subfields of aeronautical engineering, such as structures or aerodynamics.  With aerodynamics, computer scientists would be able to help with the computational side of the process, such as developing algorithms to model fluid flow...the same could be said for structures or many other subfields.

If this person would want to do the actual engineering, such as developing the fuselage or other parts of a plane, he/she would probably need to have actual instruction in aeronautical engineering.  In such a case, a bachelor's degree in aeronautical engineering would probably be required.  It is possible that there are graduate programs in aeronautics that would accept someone with a bachelor's degree in computer science.  In such a case, they would probably have to take some undergraduate courses in aeronautics before the graduate courses, so it may take a bit longer than the average person to earn a graduate degree.
