We have a ton of trees backyard (southern sky) and I think the only place to put a dish is on the garage, but it's unattached and about 20 yards from the house. Can it still be done?

  1. I would call Direct TV and ask them.  They can only do what is allowed via the customer and the FCC.  I suggest you check the wattage of the electricity in your garage.  That may help with your answer.

  2. you sure can/

Also ,,,you can put a wood or steel pole in the ground anywhere you want and attach the dish to that. It doesn't have to be very high up. Just enough to keep the snow off and the dog from pissing on it.

I've seen this done in a number of places

  3. i had the same problem with the trees being in the way! they told me it would be ok and did it anyway, now the tree in the park grew in and blocked my satellite, so i now cant watch tv and stuck paying 80 more dollars for someone to come look at it! basically what im saying is directv will s***w you over to make a buck! i am now happy with my comcast service. no satellites better channels and cheaper!

  4. it possible, but they may have to run the wires underground. is there a way to attach the dish to your house instead
