  1. same as nappies, yes, they are a drain on resources.

    . they will rot in landfill, producing methane, and if you bung them down the loo they could cause a nasty blockage in the drain or at the sewage works.

    there are indeed commercial alternatives;

    i use cut up old towels; lovely and soft. i soak them overnight in cold water, use that water as plant food, then bung them in the machine (with my work trousers, not the whites). simple.
