Have England got the firepower or skill to take 20 South African wickets in the next 3 days at Lords?

OR

Will the game end in a dull draw?

Well done to KP, Belly and Broady too! c'mon England :)

  1. Yes!!!!!!

When has any England match ever ended in a 'dull draw'?

There's always plenty of talking points, even if the match itself is terrible.

  2. because of KP and Ian Bell England Are Now Favorites in 1st

    Test match against South africa.

  3. I reckon they can do it!

If they keep bowling on target they should win.

  4. if they dont win now , it will be very disappointing

  5. Sorry KooKee, but I think SA are going to dominate this series, but I will be willing to eat crow if they don't.

  6. South africa will win or match drawn

  7. I am surprised England is playing so well!! Good work England!! If England's bowling is good, then they will win for sure!!!

  8. Yes.RSA will completely demolish England with total domination.

  9. yeah! they surely will!

  10. Sorry Kook. Its gonna be a draw. Next game - SA. After that - maybe England (I'm praying that Freddie comes back in this game)

  11. If umpire is Dearl Heare then England win

Otherwise S A will win or match drawn

  12. Well firstly well done to England some great performances, KP was great as were Broad and Bell. I hope it's the start of a resurgence for Bell and not a 'silence the critics until they start up again' type of innings. If he plays like that on a more regular basis he'll give a lot or teams a lot of trouble. But again well played to him, pity he didn't get his double century. I was sorry that Broad didn't get a hundred but they'll be other opportunities.

I was surprised SA's bowling attack wasn't as potent as it has been in the past, they bowled too short and their lines weren't consistent. That might have been down to the Lord's conditions (and inexperienced bowlers who have never had to contend with that slope before) or nerves. Who knows, but I was even more surprised that Smith waited so long to use his best bowler.

If England make a good start tomorrow then they'll be in with a very good chance of a win. However it'll be hard as SA's opening pair of Smith and McKenzie have been averaging around a hundred together recently and England's bowling will have to be the best it's ever been, consistent and sharp with good lines. Especially as SA have a very strong line up with Kallis, Amla, Prince, De Villiers et al in the middle and their tail-enders doing a very decent job.

England will have to be excellent in the field and consistent with their bowling and not get ahead of themselves if they start to get any kind of lead. If they do that then they could get a win.

Unfortunately I think it'll be a draw. I think SA's batting will be too much to contend with and I can see SA trying to bat for as long as they can leaving both teams having to bat again with not enough time to do it in. Either that or they'll overhaul England's total leaving England having to bat again and SA might win if they stay ahead. I think SA will win this series even if England draw or win this one, if not I'll eat my cricket bat.

  14. well....if England manages to destroy the south african top order then....probably yes through follow on or a big target. But already 2 days r over...south africans hav jus started their first innings. So..u never know.  Both teams are equally good with some young & gr8 all rounders. But i think england has advantage. They even don need flintoff...with likes of stuart broad ...ambrose...sidebottom.

  15. ENGLAND WILL LOST THE MATCH

  16. The test is headedfor a draw

  17. yes they can they have put a lot of runs on the board. They have Anderson, Sidebottom, Broad, and Panesar who can take 20 wickets. I think England will win the first test.
