  1. I have a "Small Holding" and take youngsters on Work Experience every year with no problems.

  2. it can be done but 4 the first few dys make him just watch what other people r doing to be safe.

  3. yes you can. I am doing a argriculture course at school and we had to go somewhere to do with farming. I went to the vets but a lot of other people went to farms. The schools check the health and safety first before they let the student go there.

  4. I did that!  I asked a friend of a friend, who gave me the number of a local farm, I phoned them up and it was all sorted.  And it was a wonderful job!  I loved it, it was so great!  Make sure your son gets a good time to go - summer is pretty boring, its best to go about February when the lambs and calves are being born!

Oh yeah, make sure he has his own wellies - preferably steel toe capped, and overals too.  The health and safety is almost non-existant where I went, so I hope he has a lot of common sense.  With me though I was mostly hanging off the side of a tracotr, riding quad bikes, chasing cows, herding sheep, steering pigs - its great fun, but dangerous!

  5. Of course it can be done!  It is the best way to find out if he is interested in a career in farming.

  6. i have raised shire horses for over 40 years. yes you can and i reccomend it.
