  1. Randy Couture is still technically in the UFC (and still the heavyweight champion), and he has a great chance of beating Fedor - especially if the fight is held inside the Octagon. Everyone needs to take into account that fighting in a cage is MUCH different than fighting in a ring. The cage structure itself can be used for both defense and offense. Someone with no cage experience, like Fedor, is potentially going to have a tough time the first go around inside the cage. In that regard, Antonio Rodrigo Nogueira might have a slight advantage if the rematch were held in the Octagon.

  2. Assuming the wiki page was accurate, if Gonzaga can rebound from his two losses, I would say Gabriel Gonzaga, along with Randy Couture, stand the best chances of beating Fedor Emanialenko, although, between those two I would put my money on Couture because he is an old warrior, while Gonzaga is still too green and soft for the likes of Emanialenko.

Even though Gonzaga is a gifted fighter, as a relative newcomer to the UFC, to beat Mirko Philipovic, is nothing to sneeze at.  Problem is, he is still not a hardened veteran like Couture.  Because Couture is mentally tougher, he beat Gonzaga.  Fedor Emanialenko is such a frightening pressence in the ring, an unseasoned or amateur fighter, or someone with nowhere near Couture's experience, would be too petrified to effectively fight against him.  Gonzaga has the physical atributes to beat him, his mind though, is a different story.

Most MMA fans would agree, almost unanimously, Randy Couture.  Tito Ortiz, is too much of a cocksure b*****d, and does not have the maturity to go up against the likes of someone like Emanialenko.  If Ortiz and Emanialenko ever fought, it would not be a pretty sight; Emanialenko would rip him apart.

Another person who I think has a good chance, if he can learn to control his agression, is Chuck Liddell.  Newcomber Kimbo Slice, I also think, stands a good chance problem is, his techniques are unpolished.  Physically he is much stronger than Emanialenko, problem is he relies too much on that.  The last person on the list from the UFC that I would name, is Quinton Jackson; even Fedor Emanialenko does not have the stamina to witshtand that trademark power slam of his.  Against Fedor though, he would need to it 7 times in a fight, assuming Fedor makes the mistake of letting him pull  it off, to break him psychologically.  Russians don't go down easy.

Ultimately though, for me, if he can get himself mentally tougher, Gabriel Gonzaga.  Physically, he's got what Fedor's got, plus he's also got something Fedor does not have, and that is a natural fighting instinct.  Problem is becuase he lacks the mental toughness of Couture, whenever things do not go easy for him, he breaks down and gives up.  Unless he can overcome that weakness I doubt he will ever stand up to Fedor.  And Couture is getting old.  Gonzaga would have to train in the lion's den, and with Randy Couture so that he can show him how to be mentally tough, to be able to beat Emanialenko; that man, is in a league of his own, and a very dangerous opponent.

    I hope that helps.

  3. First of all, we are not talking pound for pound...we are simply talking who would win overall!  Yes, Fedor is the best, will be the best for a while and the only competition that would have a chance is Randy.  All these people who even think anderson silva would have a chance are retarted.  If you are not a believer of Fedor just go onto youtube and watch his fights.  Plus, you can order the affliction show on july 19 and watch him destroy tim silvia.  You really wont need to watch it b/c I will tell you how it is going to go down.  Fedor will get close to silvia, hug him, and trip him down.  In about 15 sec he will have silvia in a armbar and that will be it.

  4. it is not very likely that a ufc fighter could beat him now. he is without a doubt the best.

  5. ya he probably could walk through the entire HW division, Couture included, he's that good

  6. Fedor would beat any fighter in the world.

  7. Pretty much. The only ones that i think can beat him are Randy Cotoure and Anderson Silva.

  8. I would say no, no fighter in the UFC could beat him. That said, I wouldn't call him the best fighter in the world.

Because he's a HW, he has the weight advantage on the other top pound for pound fighters.

Pound for Pound, Anderson Silva, GSP and B.J. Penn could all probably take him

  9. I hope youre being serious beacause there are alot of people who ask and the answers they are retarded..

So anyways Randy Couture is probably Fedor's biggest competition search youtube for fedor and randy, Randy and Fedor want to fight but Dana White is a ***** and did not want to let randy fight fedor, so right now Randy is in the process of trying to make this fight possible, that's all the info i can give you but for real search for randy couture and fedor emilianenko on youtube for a better answer

  10. As far as heavyweights go there really isn't anyone better, and I'm some what of a Fedor hater.

  11. Fedor has beaten top competition in recent years when some fighters were in their prime. Cro-Cop, Big Nog (twice), Mark Coleman, Randleman, Fujita, Mark Hunt, etc.

The first big test in a little over a year is going to be Sylvia. I think we're going to see Fedor fight better and better competition more oftne. After this Tim fight, saying that Fedor wins, which is what I believe and I am sure 99% of others are. The next fight is going to be against Randy, it's just cards falling together.

Back to the main reason, why I am answering this. Let's look at some of the current HWs of the UFC:

Big Nog: Fought three times, 2 wins via UD, 1 no contest.

Heath Herring: 1 win via TKO (stoppage)

Frank Mir: It probably will never happen.

Brock: Get it out of your mind. Haha.

The UFC HW division is the biggest joke right now. The only fighter that could challenge Fedor is Big Nog. But would Fedor really want that fight again?

  12. I think Randy Couture is the only worthy opponent for this guy, he already beaten the top fighters in the division--cro cop, nougera, coleman, randleman,...I mean, who else is brave enough to fight this guy?...

  13. Randy Couture and Frank Mir are the only 2 in the UFC that could come close right now.....his other two big threats are in afflication with him now arlovski and sylvia.

  14. Maybe at one point, but I don't think so now.  There are a lot of good fighters out there.  Fedor is considered the best at heavyweight because of what he did in Pride.  I think he will get beat soon and wouldn't put it past Sylvia just yet.
