Can Force India secure sixth place in 2012 Formula 1 World Constructors’ Championship?
Force India have emerged as one of the most competitive mid-field contenders in the 2012 Formula 1 season and they will definitely give a tough time to their main rival, Sauber in the remaining races.
The drivers of the Silverstone based team, Nico Hulkenberg and Paul di Resta have performed convincingly well in the season so far and have managed to attain some remarkable results for their team. In addition, they have surely got the potential to fight
with the Swiss team’s drivers, Sergio Perez and Kamui Kobayashi.
After the Singapore Grand Prix, Vijay Mallya, the team principal of Force India said that they are working hard to make the essential developments in their car so as to improve its pace in order to perform well in the upcoming races. Moreover, he asserted
that their aim is to secure sixth place finish in the constructors’ championship for which they are pushing harder.
“As I've said before that little bit of luck has eluded us,” he said. “Hopefully it will come to us one day, because we've shown the pace of the car. This is the second time we've finished fourth in the last three races, so we're becoming the bridesmaid
a bit too often!”
Furthermore, he said that they are well aware of the fact that they will have a strong fight with Williams in the season ahead. He also said that they are not feeling disappointed over the difficulties which they faced in the previous few races and are confidently
looking forward to close the gap to their major opponent, Sauber in the remainder of the season.
“I still remember the situation in 2010 when Williams pipped us by one point at the last race, so I guess it's not over until it's over! I'm still hoping that we can do it and one strong podium finish could help to wipe out Sauber's advantage,” he added.
The competition has been very intense amongst all the top teams in the season until now and it is very hard to make any kind of projections for the approaching races. Besides, all the contenders are making the significant preparations for the races ahead
and it will be interesting to see whether Force India will be successful in achieving their target or not.
