Can GCSE's be retaken at college whilst you do a course that you didnt achieve the grades?

I am going to new college in bromsgrove and i need 5 gcse's including maths and english at C level. If i dont get the math or/and english grade can i take the course and retake the gcse's?

  1. Yeah, you should be able to. It may mean doing GCSEs in an evening though if the course is full time during the day


  2. Yes you can. Just visit your exam board's website and it should have the information.  

  3. Yeah you can retake.

    You can do it at an intirely different college, you can do them at home, with something like ICS or you can go to college at night once a week and retake that way. There are a lot of options, look into it where you live. Perhaps you could ask connexions, they would help you.

  5. It depends on the course, the college and you. If you get a D in say English and good grades in the other subjects and your English teacher writes a reference you should be OK.

  6. No, if the course requires a C in these subjects then you will need a C to start it.  But they may put you on an access course in that subject whilst you re-sit your GCSE's in the subjects you didn't reach the grades in.
