  1. No. The Hans device is used with a six point harness and a car with a roll bar or cage. A go kart does not use seat belts or have any roll protection. Go kart drivers use a pad around the neck to restrict head movement somewhat. In a serious accident go kart drivers are like motorcycle riders, they separate from the vehicle. This is why go karts require leathers like a motor bike rider.


  2. hans devices use the seatbelt to make it a stable support plus they are too heavy for kart racing but there is a new neck brace out like a hans device for kart racing called a"leatt brace"that shows some promise.

  3. A Hans device is held in place by the shoulder harness part of the seat belt in a full size car. Without seat belts, the Hans doesn't work. Raced karts for 3 years on and off, not once did I wear leather.
