  1. She could - look at Bush; in spite of the problems he created in his first term he was elected to do even worse in his second term. People have a tendency to vote for the best "song and dance" person, which may not always be the best choice. Hillary is not the best choice but she gets credit for being the first and only female candidate, she gets credit for being a previous first lady, and she is getting a lot of support from people who feel Bill will be able to keep her on track. He managed to convince her he was worth hanging onto; I am not sure that shows a lot of integrity on her part. Probably more desperation and need for his support). I had been bouncing back and forth between Edwards and Obama but after the Las Vegas debates and listening to Obama discuss the illegal aliens situation I have dropped him. I found Joe Biden to be the most knowledgeable in foreign affairs, constitutional and international law, and far less argumentive than the others. He did not make a lot of promises he may not be able to keep. Hillary has been pushing her health care bill for 15 years and has not got support from democrats or republicans. She is far from being the best candidate for the democrats, further from the best candidate for president.

  2. She can unless she talks the Democrats out of it.

  3. Hopefully she will win so the Republican candidate will defeat her so badly that she will go into hiding and never spew her socialist propaganda again.

  4. I think she does have a good chance, and a lot of support among democrats.  I'd be thrilled to vote for either Senator Clinton or Senator Obama in the general, although I'm voting for Obama in the primary.  I think she would make a great president, and I think people know that.  I think the US is eager to demonstrate that we are willing to have a woman leader.

  5. Despite what people like Mary Jo say - Hillary's lead for the Democrat nomination is growing.

A lot can happen once the primaries begin - but right at this moment she looks pretty strong.

  6. No.

  7. The short answer is yes...but it is a complex situation.

Hillary Clinton is certainly the favorite to win in the democratic primaries, but in the world of politics, little is certain. She has recently come under intense scrutiny for her tendency to make blanket statements on issues and to be very unclear as to her actual stance. This may very well be the first sign of weakness in an otherwise dominant political machine. Both Obama and Edwards have started to take a few jabs at Clinton, while being cautious as to not come off as too confrontational or reliant on "negative campaigning." Check out this video from the Edwards campaign as a case in point: It is called "The Politics of Parsing" and shows Hillary making contradictory statements on 3 major issues - the Iraq war, social security, and illegal immigration.

Clearly the campaign is starting to get heated up, but there are many things that can happen to shake things up. Watch for more attacks on Hillary's credibility in the future. Do I want her to win...well that's another issue altogether.

  8. no, her ratings are slipping fast

  9. Hillary Clinton has the intelligence as a lawyer and experience as a Senator and former First Lady expected to win the Democratic Primaries.
