I have a Male Syrian hamster. He is about 5-6 months old. He has two cages connected (CritterTrail TWO and CritterTrail X), and I was wondering if I could add another Male Syrian hamster to the cage! All answers would be appreciated!!!!!

  1. h**l no they will kill each other

  2. well its not for sure they would fight but most likely they will

  3. no most male animals tend to fight to a bloody mess, and that would be disturbing to wake up to a once family pet to a disgusting mess.dont do it. i say DONT DO IT!!!

  4. It is advisable not to do so, because Syrian Hamsters are solitary animals, and your male hamster already has dominated on both the cages, and so, both the cages are his territory.

Any significant other hamster in his territory would cause him to fight the other one.

Hamsters may look small, but their fights are brutal, and often leads to severe cuts and wounds, loss of limbs or broken bones.

So please, do not place any other hamster in his cage.

If you still want to get a hamster, you can, but you have to provide it with it's own territory, ie its own cage.

I'm glad you asked this question before making a decision.

    You are a responsible owner.

Thank you for showing your responsibility.

I wish you and your Syrian Hamster all the very best.

EDIT: Don't even think about getting a female hamster.

The fight will be worse, and you'll also end up with 4-21 babies.

    Have a Good Day!

  5. hamsters that are not introduce do tend to fight. even sometimes to death. but it would be nice to have two hamsters running around together :)

  6. Nope. They are solitary animals and will fight, most likely to the death, if kept together. Do not even get a female, as they will breed and not get along anyways after breeding.

  7. NO! Syrian hampters need to be by themselfs, they will fight to te death. If you want 2 rodents in one cage get gerbils. They need to be with other gerbils & make great pets as well. I have both

  8. i knew the question and answer before i read it sorry no they will fight to death!

  9. NO!

DONT RISK IT.  They will most likely figth to the death and the one that survives would be severly injured.  Dont do that to your poor hammy!

hamsters are solitary creatures, and prefer to be alone.  If you seperate the cages itll be fine though.

  10. Absolutely not. Syrian hamsters, even two females, cannot be kept together. They will fight, and one or both will end up being killed. The reason they can be kept together in pet stores is because they are so young.

  11. No, syrian hamsters fight. One would end of dead....sad.... Dont put more then one syrian in a cage.

  12. no. u cant keep two males together in the same territory. males are extremely territorial and will fight to the death to keep it safe. so if u want a dead hamster, possibly two, then keep them togehter, otherwise leave them seperate. this is from experience.

  13. They would fight but having 2 cages might be fine. I mean ,, well i had 2 hamsters in 1 cage and they fought but they did fine becuase the cage was pretty big. So i'm pretty sure your fine if you had 2 hamsters.

  14. nope, syrian hamsters are solitary, and have to be housed alone. if u do put them together they will fight to death

  15. No, the two would fight to the death. You might be able to put a female in with him though. But, then you would have tons of babies. The next time you get a hamster, just get two at the same time. If you get two that are raised together, like brothers, they will get along much better. There is always a chance of fighting though.

  16. Yes, you can.

They'll most likely fight with each other in the beginning but they will probably eventually get used to each other, especially when you have so much space.

When you first itnroduce them to each other, get a spoon and get ready to seperate them.

  17. no!!!!!!!!

    syrian hamsters don't mix!

they are agressive nd would fight bite and maybee result in the death of one of them

dwarf hamsters are the only hamsters that can be kept together

    edit:

not even a female hamster would work!!!

hamsters will only breed in neutral ground and then they only spemd max 20 mins together and very ften have to be seperated as they start fighting as the female turnds extreamly agressive and can inflict serious injury
