  1. NUFF SAID RIGHT THERE^^^^

  2. of course. just work really hard. Here are some chances for other sports just to give you an idea.

Basketball: 2.9 % of high school seniors play basketball in an NCAA college

1.3% of college seniors are drafted by an NBA team

.03% of high school seniors are drafted by an NBA team

Baseball 5.6% of high school seniors play at an NCAA college

10.5% of college seniors are drafted by MLB

.5% of high school seniors are drafted by MLB

Football 5.6% of high school seniors play football at an NCAA college

2% of college seniors are drafted by NFL

.09% of high school seniors are drafted by NFL

    Good Luck.

  3. If you're talking about the UK, most decent Uni players, play club rugby as well.  Get them to take you along to their club and get a run out for one of their reserve teams and, if you are good enough you'll soon progress.

Making an impression at University level is not usually a particularly effective way of getting noticed (you're more likely to be noticed at school, I believe).

  4. only if youre good and your coaches spread the word

  5. no reason why not but you're more likely to be scouted if you're playing in a club setup.

The fact is, if you're good enough to play pro rugby, you've got something else and it's going to be evident no matter who you play for, as long as you play regularly. Scouts will make an effort if your coach believes in you enough to stick his neck out and say "come and see this guy".

In my opinion, if you've got a lot of pace then you might get away with sticking with your Uni team but if you're a forward you're going to need to step up a level physically and prove you can cut the mustard with the big boys. If you're a half back or center you need to prove what you can do under pressure in club rugby. My advice would be to join a club as an amateur or, if you can, a semi-pro: you're more likely to be assisted in getting a contract at a club than stuck in a Uni league.

Enjoy your Uni rugby though; 23-24 isn't "too old" to start looking at getting into pro rugby - get your degree and see what you can make of it at a decent club first.
