  1. If you had that kind of money, you wouldn't be here asking questions, you'd have it already.

  2. I'm sure if the air force are willing to sell aircraft to countries they're not even good friends with you should have no trouble obtaining one.

Your most important question is are you looking to fly to the aircraft or just collect it? If you actually want to fly it your pretty much going to have to employ a full time mechanic or become real good friends with a die-hard enthusiast. I know here in Australia that the majority of plane fatalities are from private owners or hobbyists and quite often are due to some malfunction.

Also you must remember that there are different requirements for civil and military aircrafts, such as sound level restrictions.  It might be a good idea to steer clear of any  jet gas-turbine powered aircraft.

The best place  to look are boneyards or aircraft graveyards, take someone who knows about aircraft as you would be extremely lucky to find anything completely intact. Ask around in aircraft collectors forums, most of them are more than happy to share some info on where to look. Also find an aircraft museum or historical aircraft restoration place and talk to the people there.

If your really keen on flying one some restoration facilities will let you donate your plane and in exchange they will maintain/restore it.

  3. i dont think so unless its a hot wheels fighter jet or a transformers.. i dont think the government contractors can just sell it to anyone...

  4. there are aircraft brokers on line, and several "bone yards" with retired combat aircraft, that need to be demilitarised before civilian use. also, if you plan on flying one of these, take a qualified aircraft/ airframe inspector with you. there are many aircraft in mothballs, and preserved non-active status that can pass muster to be licensed to fly. i recently saw a classic mig-29. painted in a candyapple cherry metalflake color that blew me away as it flew past me to land at the local airport. there are also manuals and spare parts dealers online. good luck. i would love to have a classic p-51  mustang with the rolls royce, supercharged merlin engine and 4 blade adjustable prop. or p-38 lightning with the same engines, check under vintage aircraft brokers. good luck.

  5. There was a super s**y SAAB Draken on Controller.com a few weeks ago for $350,000.  Max speed on that thing was Mach 2.1 and it climbed at 36,000 ft per minute.  If you have the money to pay for gas for that thing (cause I'm sure it burns about 250 gallons an hour) then that would be a really nice jet to have.

  6. Easy. I looked at some Czech jet fighters a couple years ago. They sell for about $300K. Insurance is cheap (in other words, you can't insure them, so you don't have to spend anything on insurance). Maintenance is expensive.

You should come to Oshkosh, WI in a couple weeks. There will be many privately owned fighters there. You can talk to the owners and see what they cost to maintain.

There are probably some listed at www.controller.com and www.aso.com.

  7. You may be able to buy it, but operating it will cost you much more. Maintenance costs and parts replacement costs are very expensive, and if you don't do that you are asking for trouble. What you are talking about buying involves a relatively small time in the air and a lot of work on the ground. I hope you have a friend who is a trained mechanic, and that you don't mind paperwork.

  8. Maybe you can buy some medication for your delusions.

  9. Yes

Keep in mind that you are looking several thousand dollars per flight just for the fuel.

And you have to be licensed pilot to legally take off.  In the USA, an illegal take off in an aircraft like this would result in you being shot down very quickly.

  10. Try globalplanesearch.com

    Then scroll down to ex-military.

    There you go!

  11. Where would you park it?

  12. Liar

  13. >>  I'v Got the money

How do you know how much money you need?

    ===

Anyway yes you can.  Many of the old soviet union fighter jets are for sale.  The actor who plays Wolf on Star Trek Next Generation owns his own Mig.

    good luck...

  14. You have the money to buy a fighter? Will you be my sugar daddy?
