***Can I Go Swimming While I have My Period***?

Hi,

I have booked tickets for my husbands birthday to go to a big waterpark on wednesday!!

I have just come on this morning, my periods are very irregular and when I do get them I get very heavy ones!!

Will I still be able to go swimming if I wear a tampon??

All advice will be really appreciated!!

Yeh if you wear a tampon you should be fine, but maybe try changing it throughout the day and getting a strong one to suit your flow. Just be careful when getting out of the pool, thats when an accident can happen, but you will be fine if you are careful.

Yes, you can go swimming with a tampon and you'll be fine.  If you've never done it before at first it may feel uncomfortable as it expands quickly but it's fine, you won't leak or anything.

Yes, it's perfectly alright to go swimming on your period. If you have an unusually heavy period, you can insert two tampons at the same time, if you are worried about leakage.

Even if your period is heavy, you are not likely to leak a significant enough amount for anyone to tell you are on your period. Just be sure the string is tucked in :)

There is no health reason you can't swim on your period. You take baths or showers on your period, don't you?

I've need been in this position myself, but my friend wore one while swimming and she was on her periods, and it was fine for her :)

nah, i remeber back in school all the girls use to take notes in to school from there parents saying they were on their period so they didn't have to participate in swimming, and if that reaso was good enough for a teacher (when most reasons normally arent) i wouldn't advise you to go swimming while on your period... x

Urm..You Could a super plus tampon, put a new one in just before you go to the waterpark and change it straight away after you get out of the water! You could always get a menstrual cup..www.mooncup.com <<that tell you more info about them and the third option you could go to the doctors and go on the pill so you wouldnt have it at all on your husbands birthday ! (:
