Can I Hook up a Used Rogers Cable Box to my existing setup?

I have two digital terminals with Rogers Cable already. I am looking to buy my friends (they have one but haven't used it in months). I was wondering if this would cost me more on my bill, or if this is even legal to do.

They did PURCHASE the box from Rogers.

As long as you are on a VIP package or already paying for an extra outlet then no, it would not cost you any more to add a purchased box to your account.  If you are on a basic cable package with one outlet only, then it would cost another $6.99/mth to have the second outlet added which would be necessary to have a second box registered to your account.
