Can I I re-enter(after traveling) with the ONLY identity as a "person that's waiting for a greencard"?

  1. without any other visa, then no. you do not hold a green card yet and therefore cannot enter the country using that privilege. you need to use another type of visa in order to enter the country. if you use a tourist visa, then it is nearly impossible to enter this country with that since you have intentions of immigrating. you need to submit solid proof that you have intentions of going back to your country.

  3. I don't understand what ID you do have. Where and how are you trying to re=enter from?

It is usually possible, but you will have to apply for advanced parole first.  And last time I checked, that takes about 3 months or more.  DO NOT LEAVE THE COUNTRY without talking to an immigration attorney first.  If you leave the country without the proper paperwork, you will be demed to have abandoned your application for permanent residency, which means that not only will you not be allowed to re-enter the U.S., you'll also have to start the green card process all over again (and pay all of the thousands of dollars in fees again).
