Can I Join/Attempt The Navy SEALs wih Contacts?

Hey, I'm Considering Joining Or Attempting To Be A SEAL But I'm Concerned About My Vision.

I Have 20/500 Vision And It Can Be Corrected To 20/20...I Have Contacts And Can Leave Them In For Weeks At A Time With No Irritation ...Can I Become A Seal?

  1. Last I knew for sure was no but with all the waivers and laxing of rules in recent years I would do a little more checking


  2. I was under the impression that as long as you were correctable to 20/20 you were good to go! The military will pay for you to have lasik if you do get in, so they might let you in with conditions, that you have to have lasik.

  3. Negative, to volunteer for BUD/S(SEAL) training, "uncorrected vision can be no worse than 20/200 in each eye. Both eyes must be correctable to 20/20 " so Lasik or PRK eye surgery would be necessary if you want to become a SEAL.
