Can I Learn To Dance By Myself?

Question

I've always wanted to be a dancer when im older, I use to want to be a breakdancer but it seems too much hard work, could i learn to hiphop dance by myself? or do i have to go to classes? Like flava and nemesis off britains got talent, could i learn to dance like that by myself? Anyone with advice please tell me cause i really want to be a dancer.

you could try. or make up your own style but you might have to go to lessons if you want to learn new things and how to do them properly like new moves and stuff

If you don't want to put in 'too much hard work', then give up right now. Dancing is HARD, no matter what style you do, and if you're not willing to put effort into it, there's no point.

Of course you can!!!! The internet, especially youtube is a really good place to pick up dance. If you look up like access broadway competition you will see a bunch of dancers. It will be easier to pick up better dance moves if you look at people who are at competiton the will be very put together with top of the line moves. Also I like to get with my friends and dance because they give me pointers and i do the same for them. Also school or public dances are a good place to pick up moves. But i mean if it is something you are really really interested in you might just want to start picking up a saturday class once a week. I wish you luck and hope I helped

Well if uve got talent and i fuve got  frends that could teach u they could ...or u could learn it from the internet or u could just dance around like crazy at home and thats supposed to improvbe ur dancing skills

I just depends. It would be easier and faster to get lessons, but they probably cost a lot of money. You probably could, but you need to get educated on your type of dance. Watch videos and study them closly, so you don't get hurt. Then when you feel comfortable enough to try it , then give it a go. Good Luck! I hope I helped you

NO if you teach yourself you wont have technique.

You will be missing the major components of dance.

Turn out, pointing the foot, holding your arms,  I would definitely not teach my self to dance. It is a bad idea. If you don't go to a dance school and take some classes you will not be hired as a professional dancer. So if you want to be a professional dancer when you get older you have to take classes or forget about that idea. You not taking classes is like a doctor not going to school.  

You have to, its not a choice. Especially if you want to be professional.

I have been taking classes all my life and I know that if I didnt take them I would never have became a professional ballerina.
