We are having a baby and the computer room is going to become the nursery. I need to move the computer to the dining room. We have Comcast internet and phone. I really need to know if we can DIY this or if I have to call Comcast to do it for me. We will definatly need to extend the phone line and cable lines.

  1. yes. but probably not the way you are thinking of. try getting a really long phone cable, and a really long ethernet cable. plug it into your sockets, and get the hooks to put into the ceiling and line it all the way to your room.

  2. If there is a jack already in the room it may work, just plug up a phone and try it.  If there is no jack you will have to use the really long cable as described above.  Another option you could try are cordless/wireless phones.  There are cordless phones that you can buy that come with an extenion.  The main base station plugs into the wall and you get a second extension.  With the extension set all you do is plug it to power.  It wireless connects to the base station so there is no need for running the phone cable.
