Can I Send A Mail having Size of More than 1 MB in a group ?

Question

I am a Group Owner of my college group.

we want to share some Pics and notes on that group, which is normally done by sending mails to group

but normally the size exceeds the the mail returns an eroor

so is there any alternative or nay option by which i can inrease the mail size of my gruop

or should i make group in other mail providers like gmail or some thing ?

you probably need to resize the photo's. I can send up to 12 with no problem resized.

Messages up to 1MB can be delivered to your group. This includes both the message body and the attachment. As a general rule, attachments should be no larger than 800KB. If you post a message larger than 1MB it will be returned to you.

No, there is no option to increase the maximum message size.

I'm a member of one Group where sending pics in attachments are common.  I often see up to 5-6 pics/attachments on a message.  When another member of that Group has more than 1MB worth of pics they want to send in attachments to the Group, they split the pics among multiple messages (including just a few pics/attachments each message, and sending up to 6 messages in a row like this).  So that's my suggestion to you - when you (or another member of your Group) have more than 1MB worth of pics, divide them up among multiple messages.

Your other alternative is the Photos section of your Group's web site.  It can hold up to 100MB worth of pics of any size.  So on the occassion (I would imagine rare) when you have a single pic more than 1MB that you want to share with the Group, then log in to your Group's web site, and upload it to the Photos section.
